Students are set to take over a Burton centre as they are invited to take advantage of a late-night shop.

Coopers Square shopping centre is giving students the chance to enjoy the run of the centre while taking advantage of exclusive discounts and making the most of the entertainment.

The shopping spectacular will return between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday, September 28 and is open to anyone aged 16 and older who attends any college, sixth form or university.

David Chadfield, centre manager at the shopping centre, said: "Our Student Takeover events are always popular at Coopers Square. This year we have decided to boost up the entertainment factor with circus acts coming in to wow people and also teach them some of their tricks, plus we will have free popcorn and candy floss for students to enjoy.

"Plus a variety of offers will up for grabs at many of the students' favourite stores including Topshop, Quiz, River Island, The Fragrance Shop and Ann Summers.

"As with previous takeovers, admission is totally free, but students can register beforehand through our website in order to gain more details about the evening and to win additional prizes."

Anyone wanting to register for the event can do so at www.cooperssquare.co.uk. Once details have been accepted, a confirmation email will be sent giving students more information about the evening and they will be the first to hear about the exclusive offers, as well being given the chance to win £100 to spend at Coopers Square shopping centre.

Mr Chadfield said: "We will also have a team present at the Burton and South Derbyshire College Freshers' Fair on September 6 to offer students more information and point them in the right direction of registering for the event.

"The Student Takeover is always a fabulously fun evening and with everything we have lined up, we're really looking forward to this being another huge hit with students."
