Eureka Park, in Swadlincote, is set to host its first musical event, with choirs taking part in a performance designed to bring people together.

Springfield Junior School Choir, the Leeside Singers and the Singing for Health choir will all perform in the old bandstand area of the Midland Road park.

Everyone is invited to attend the free event and people are welcome to take seating and a picnic to enjoy as they listen to the music.

South Derbyshire District Council’s chairman of the housing and community services committee Councillor Jim Hewlett said: “We are hoping to attract people of all ages and to unite the community with music and song. There will be a chance for the audience to join in with the singing for the finale.”

Taking place on Tuesday, July 11, the event starts at 6pm and runs until 7.30pm.
