Man, 59, arrested in Burton on suspicion of attempted sexual grooming of a child

A man has been arrested in Burton on suspicion of attempting to sexually groom a child.

Staffordshire Police said the 59-year-old man was today, Friday, July 28, in custody after being arrested in the town last night when officers were called to a property in Princess Street at around 7pm.

Traffic backed up in Burton from M42 crash

A accident involving two vehicles on the M42 southbound between junction 10 and junction 9 at the M6 Toll is now backing up traffic all the way to Burton.

The road is currently blocked while authorities deal with the incident.

Heavy traffic on the M1 at Mansfield

One lane has been closed on the M1 northbound at junction 29 near Mansfield.

The closure has come after reports of a broken down vehicle on the carriageway.

A fisherman has had the shock of his life after capturing what he believes to be a ghost on camera - completely by accident.

Clive Lloyd’s fishing trip took a chilling turn when he spotted an apparition across the riverbank.

Mr Lloyd was on a fishing trip on the River Trent near Branston Golf Course when he decided to take several snaps of his surroundings.

Temporary traffic lights in Winshill, on the A511 Ashby Road is causing slow traffic between the A444 Stapenhill Road and High Bank Road.

The indoor swimming pools at the Hood Park Leisure Centre in Ashby are currently closed due to a power failure.

Train services are back to normal after delays

Rail services are now running as normal after delays caused after a freight train broke down between Burton and Tamworth.

The work to create smart motorway on the M1 near junction 24 near East Midlands Airport is causing slow traffic this morning.

Broken down car on the A50

One lane is currently blocked on the A50 due to a broken down car. It is causing slow traffic on the eastbound side at the B5030 Ashbourne Road, Little Chef roundabout. The car has had a puncture and is affecting traffic between Blythe Bridge and Uttoxeter, says Inrix, the traffic and travel information website.
